Terms of Use
Last updated: 21 October 2026
These terms govern your use of Every Line Item (everylineitem.com). By using the site, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What this site is
Every Line Item publishes line-item cost breakdowns and government fee data for California accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and residential construction. Content is provided for general information only.
Not professional advice
Nothing on this site is legal, tax, architectural, engineering, or construction advice, and no figure on this site is a bid, quote, or estimate for your project. Construction costs, permit fees, impact fees, and utility charges vary by parcel and change over time. Always confirm current figures with the relevant city, county, school district, or utility before making financial decisions, and consult licensed professionals for your specific project.
Accuracy and updates
Fee figures are drawn from official sources (city and county fee schedules, municipal codes, school district resolutions, and utility tariffs) and are re-verified on a published quarterly schedule. Despite that care, sources change, documents are amended, and errors occur. Figures are provided “as is” without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Corrections are logged publicly on Corrections; report an error to corrections@everylineitem.com.
Acceptable use
You may read, share, and link to any page on this site. You may quote figures and excerpts with attribution and a link back to the source page. Our fee card embed is provided for reuse on other sites with its attribution intact. You may not scrape the site at a volume that degrades service, misrepresent our figures as your own verified data, or use the site for any unlawful purpose.
Downloads and tools
Spreadsheets, CSV datasets, calculators, and worksheets are provided free of charge, without warranty. Calculator outputs are arithmetic on published fee schedules under stated assumptions — they are not quotes, approvals, or predictions of what any agency will charge your parcel.
Third-party links
This site links to official documents and other third-party resources. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of third-party sites.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Every Line Item is not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on content published on this site, including cost overruns, fee changes, or decisions made using our calculators or datasets.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site evolves. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision; continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance.
